Temple Of The Dog Working Class Hero
Temple Of The Dog is the name of a group formed in Seattle in 1990 by combining parts of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, a group that made a solo album named after the band.
Brief Biography:
The Temple of the Dog was formed by Chris Cornell after his death from a heroin overdose, in 1990, his friend and roommate, Andrew Wood, singer of Mother Love Bone. After this event, Cornell wrote two songs, Say hello 2 heaven and Reach down and contacted two of the former members of Mother Love Bone, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, with the intention of recording songs to create a single.
The group was completed by Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, and the future of Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready. They began testing the songs and new songs were born from these tests, and the single was planned out an album, Temple of the Dog, published April 16, 1991 by record company A & M Records. The group is joined by Eddie Vedder, soon became the lead singer of Pearl Jam, who participated in the piece as a duet with Cornell Hunger strike. After publication, the album had good reviews, but did not reach high positions in the standings until after the publication and success of the album Ten by Pearl Jam, in 1992. In fact, after this event, the record company A & M Records released the single Hunger strike again, as an individual and as a video, and the album entered the top ten in the charts, went platinum in 1992.
